Days out by public transport
(Links to
timetables require Adobe Acrobat)
Public transport can often provide
a very good and cheaper alternative to driving - especially if there's only one
or two people travelling.
Give your car a break, enjoy the scenery and make the most of the journey -
you'll have time to read, do a crossword or plan your trip. Don't worry about
rushing back to the car before the parking ticket runs out - most services run well after shops close.
When comparing costs, remember to include the cost of parking. These are only a
few examples, more will be added over time, but it's always worth checking to
see what the alternative is!
When considering options - bus travel is usually significantly cheaper, whereas
travelling by train is usually faster & more comfortable than car journeys.
Refreshments are also available on most train services & also at larger stations.
